I just posted a compilation video of some of my latest broadcast video spots on Youtube.
According to the website MediaPost (http://www.mediapost.com), Having gone from zero to mass market globally in three short years, online video is the fastest-growing media platform in history, according to a new report from social media research consultancy Trendstream and research firm Lightspeed.
In one week in January, 97 million Americans viewed a streaming clip online — as many as are tuning into any major broadcast network — according to a recent survey of 1,000 U.S. active Web users ages 16-65.
What’s more, with 72% of U.S. Web users watching clips online, Web video outstrips both blogging and social networking, and is now the leading “social-media platform.”
With users from across the age spectrum watching, creating and distributing video content online, the so-called “digital divide” is not as wide as might be expected, according to Trendstream. It is also clear that the online video audience is far more sophisticated and influential than was previously supposed with the heaviest viewers in the 25 to 34 age bracket.
With 49 million active Web users — 32% — uploading content in January 2009, users of all ages now generate far more content than traditional broadcasters and collectively contribute the majority of video content to the Web.
According to Trendstream, broadcasters who wish to engage with this highly influential and affluent group need to develop highly compelling, multi-platform content that can be accessed through multiple gateways including email, music sites, news sites, film sites, blogs and social networks.
Ferrari Productions Receives 2009 Best of San Diego Award
U.S. Local Business Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement
WASHINGTON D.C., March 20, 2009 — For the second consecutive year, Ferrari Productions has been selected for the 2009 Best of San Diego Award in the Video Production category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).
The USLBA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2008 Award recipients qualified as 2009 Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

At Ferrari Productions, we want to wish all our clients, friends, vendors and associates a very Happy New Year. We look forward to 2009 and all the promises of the New Year.
The year 2008 was definitely an interesting year, with the elections, financial crash in the markets, and oh yes — all the challenges in the new media horizon. Blue Ray DVD, we learned, won the battle to be the dominant high definition DVD format, winning out over HD DVD.
New and evolving technologies are emerging, with a live broadcast of a football game in 3D, to more and more Internet and Web video. Tapeless workflow emerged as a new standard in video recording, along with all the challenges of storing those huge data files associated with High Definition Video. Hard drives, we have learned, must be cycled regularly to keep the data fresh and accessible.
New software and hardware became available in 2008, with the latest software including Adobe CS4 and updates for Apple Final Cut Pro. New and faster computers are on the horizon, as well as innovative camera systems such as the Red One, with its cinema quality, f4K raw files and more involved workflow.
2008 was an interesting year, and we expect 2009 to be full of opportunities and more innovation. Enjoy!
